Meet the people behind D10

Diane Walker, Executive Director

Diane has been head of District 10 Pro Bono Project since 2003. She has been an attorney for more than two decades and graduated cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law.

Prior to District 10 Pro Bono Project, Diane ran the Senior Hotline at Indiana Legal Services, which gave telephone advice and brief services to senior Hoosiers. For many years before that, she litigated in family law, bankruptcy, insurance defense and general practice, in Indianapolis and Bloomington.

She has a BA in Journalism from Indiana University, and a minor in Business. Diane grew up on a dairy farm in central Indiana and can still identify several different kinds of cows.

Adrian Polit, Pro Bono Coordinator

Since becoming a licensed attorney in 2007, Adrian has served as a public defender and a family law attorney. He has volunteered or worked at District 10 since 2009 taking pro bono cases, helping place cases, and assisting with District 10’s legal help clinics. Currently he primarily manages District 10’s Wabash Valley Survivors Legal Assistance program serving Vigo, Clay, and Sullivan counties.

Adrian has a BA in Mathematics and Political Science from Kenyon College, and received his JD from the University of South Carolina. Adrian was born in Putnam County, Indiana, and is a devoted chess player and history buff.

Rala Williams, Wabash Valley Program Coordinator (Clay, Sullivan, Vigo)

Rala has worked in a number of social services positions for more than fifteen years, while simultaneously working toward her BA from Indiana University in Sociology and Communications. Most of her experience has been in case management, working with families and children from infancy to adulthood. Her encyclopedic knowledge of local social service agencies and services helps D10 clients access other sources of help.

Rala is originally from Clay County, Indiana, and enjoys spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.
